Bar products are an essential building block in steel fabrication and construction, valued for their strength, formability, and reliability. Used in OEM platforms, industrial machinery, structural fabrication, and more, these materials are widely relied on by structural fabricators, construction firms, and machine shops for a broad range of demanding applications. Whether supporting infrastructure, reinforcing concrete, or building custom equipment, steel bars play a critical role in getting the job done right.

Typical uses include:

  • Structural framing and supports

  • Reinforcement in concrete construction

  • Machine components and shafts

  • Custom tools and assemblies

  • Heavy equipment and trailer builds

Grades & Material Specifications

Our bar inventory includes both hot rolled and cold finished options, each meeting industry-grade expectations:

Hot Rolled Bars

  • Merchant Bar Quality (MBQ): Standard carbon steel bars used in fabrication and general manufacturing. Common shapes include rounds, squares, flats, and angles.

  • ASTM A588: A high-strength, low-alloy steel ideal for use in construction and outdoor environments where corrosion resistance is essential.

Cold Finished Bars

  • Low Carbon 1018: A versatile grade for cold bending, forming, and machining. Commonly used for shafting and general-purpose fabrication. Conforms to ASTM A108 and AMS 5069.

  • Grade 1045 – A medium carbon steel with higher strength and hardness than 1018. Often used when greater mechanical properties are required.
